If you work in advertising, you already know Little Black Book. And if you don’t, you should. LBB has been covering the global ad world since 2007, and it has quietly become the most comprehensive free-to-access platform for advertising news, creative work, and industry intelligence out there. Half a million people a month — from agency creatives and brand marketers to production and post-production companies use it to stay plugged in.
The content mix is where LBB is worth coming back to. You get a searchable, free-to-view archive of creative work spanning campaigns, commercials, and branded content from agencies worldwide. There’s a solid editorial layer on top: interviews with creative directors and producers, opinion pieces, agency news, and coverage of everything from Cannes Lions to emerging market work you’d never otherwise find. The credits system is a standout feature, linking over 2.1 million creative credits back to individual profiles, so you can actually trace who made what. For anyone who needs to research talent, track competitors, or just stay current on what the industry is producing globally, that’s genuinely useful. LBB also runs The Immortal Awards, its own globally respected creative awards program.
That said, LBB’s business model means a chunk of the content is member-submitted and brand-managed, which can blur the line between editorial and promotion. Not everything you’re reading is independently reported. Company memberships run a few thousand per year, which gives paying members guaranteed publishing access, meaning the platform functions partly as a PR channel for agencies willing to pay for it. The free user experience is genuinely good, but it’s worth knowing that the playing field, while broad, isn’t entirely neutral. Still, as a daily pulse check on what’s happening in global advertising and production, few resources come close.
